Naegleria enters the brain through the nose and feeds on its membranes

naegleria fowleri

Today, there is a fear of a dangerous disease in the society, which is called "Naegleria fowleri". It is clear about this disease that it is not caused by viruses and bacteria, which is caused by bacteria.  It seems, it is called Amoeba.  It differs from viruses and bacteria and infects humans.  What is Naegleria, this amoeba thrives in clean fresh and warm water.  It cannot grow in brackish and brackish water, and even if chlorine or other disinfectant solutions are added to fresh water, it cannot grow.  There are other types of it, but only Fowleri type affects humans. When people bathe in water contaminated with Naegleria or Fowleri, it enters the throat through the nose and the sense of smell in the nose.  ) are cells that communicate directly with the brain.  And so it goes through our nose into the brain. As soon as it reaches the brain, it multiplies and starts eating our brain and its membranes as food.  As a result of this process, the disease it causes by eating our brain is called PAM (Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis) in the medical field.  The total duration of this whole process can be one to two weeks.  That is, from the entry of Naegleria into our nose and until it proves fatal.  Naegleria is contracted from bathing in ponds, streams and swimming pools, as well as fresh water in our homes that comes from taps.  It can also be caused by pouring water into the nose during ablution and bathing.  The severity and morbidity of this disease is high and it is fatal in almost all patients.  It is almost impossible to cure but can be avoided by taking precautions and better awareness.  The rate of death of the patient from this disease is 95 percent. An important and encouraging thing is that the infected person's throat and nose go away with water, but it remains there and does not get embedded in the brain of the affected person.  It has been known from research that it stays in the nose and throat of some people but does not reach the brain.  The second important thing is that it affects very few people in the society as we have seen in many other diseases which have a high proportion in the society.  It doesn't happen by sitting down and drinking water.

Avoid Naegleria

Proper use of chlorine in underground household water tanks.  When doing ablution and bathing, after pouring water, take it back forcefully.  Avoid bathing in water parks.  Always boil the water.  Use salt and sea water instead of clean water in water parks, and if using clean water, use chlorine or other disinfectant solutions.

 Symptoms:

The symptoms of this disease are similar to those of meningitis, including headache, neck pain, nausea, vomiting, fever and finally fainting.  Medicines are available to treat this disease, but by the time symptoms appear, a long time has passed and the diagnosis also takes some time.  .  That is why the mortality rate in this disease is so high.

Healthy teeth

A bright smile is not only attractive to look at, but also reflects your oral health and general well-being.  As a dentist, it is my personal observation that good dental health has a profound impact on one's quality of life.  Dental health has a major impact on our health.  But just brushing is not enough.  Dental care can be done by following the dentist's instructions, which can prevent tooth decay, if we do not take proper care of teeth, teeth and gums will start to deteriorate  In this article we are talking about several tips to take care of dental health and keep them clean.

 The path to overall health:

Our mouth acts as a conduit for our entire body and its health has profound effects on our overall health.  Many other diseases are associated with poor oral health and hygiene, including cardiovascular and circulatory diseases, diabetes, respiratory diseases, and even pregnancy complications.  By maintaining good dental health, we can reduce the risk of many diseases.

  The foundation of dental health:

Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are essential to prevent diseases before they become serious.  If you have tooth decay, gum problems, or any other dental disease, get it treated right away.  Emphasis on health care encourages people to take responsibility for their own oral health, saving them from costly and lengthy treatments due to complications later on.

Brushing and Flossing:

Maintaining oral health goes beyond the basic tradition of brushing and flossing.  While these exercises are extremely important in their own right, adding extra steps to them can greatly improve your dental health.  Regular use of water floss for mouthwash, tongue cleaning and interdental cleaning removes plaque and bacteria from the teeth, further promoting healthy teeth and gums.

Effect of nutrition on dental health:

A balanced diet plays a key role in maintaining good oral health.  Consuming a diet based on fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy products provides all the nutrients necessary for healthy teeth and gums.  Avoidance of sweet, acidic food, tobacco and alcohol helps prevent tooth and gum disease and cancer.  In addition to general health benefits, good dental health increases self-esteem.

  Brush twice a day:

Dentists say that brushing twice a day for two minutes will keep your teeth healthy.  Use fluoride toothpaste and a soft brush.  It cleans food particles and bacteria from your mouth.  Brushing also removes trapped fibers that eat away at your teeth and cause cavities.

Brushing in the morning is pleasant for the breath:

After eating at night, the teeth are full of particles and bacteria.  They form plaques.  This hardens your teeth, forming tartar, also known as "calculus".  Not only does tartar irritate your gums, it also causes gum disease and bad breath.  Brushing in the morning is mandatory to avoid overnight plaque build-up.

  Do not brush with pressure:

Brushing with too much pressure is harmful.  Brush your teeth slowly.  If your toothbrush is hard, you will have to apply too much pressure, which can damage their enamel. Enamel is strong enough to protect the inside of your mouth from damage, from eating and drinking.  It works by starting the digestive process.  Children and adolescents have softer enamel than adults, making their teeth more susceptible to cavities and erosion from eating and drinking.

  Gum disease:

Gum disease is an infection of the gums, causing them to become swollen and red.  This can lead to broken teeth and other health problems.  Risk factors for gum disease include not brushing or flossing regularly, using tobacco, or having health problems such as diabetes.

Symptoms *… red, swollen or tender gums * … bleeding when brushing, defecating or eating * … pain when chewing and sensitivity to cold objects * … loose teeth or gums that have been pulled from teeth * … bad breath or  For reasons that never end.
